Simple question about 2 amps

whats up everybody?

stupid question, but its probably easy for all of you...

I have an amp that was installed professionally in my car to power my subs. I just bought another amp to power my highs. I bought a whole new wiring kit with it. heres what im gonna do:

2 seperate power wires (one 4 gauge, one 8 gauge)

2 seperate grounds

1 remote (i will splice the new amp into it)

Now in terms of the RCAs... The RCAs already go out from the HU into the amp i use for the subs. Can I go out from the amp for the subs into the line in for the highs? Or is the only music thats going throught he RCAs to the subs the bass, which will mean i will have only bass coming from my 5x7s

if it will work, i dont have to take the HU out ... less work for me =)

Well, first off, what kind of head unit do you have? Does it have 3 preouts or just 2? What you could if you only have 2 sets is get a pair of Y-splitters and run two separate rca's to each amp.

its a Pioneer DEH-P3300 ... i dont know how many RCA outs it has in the back ... i had the system installed the first time professionally ... so are you saying that i cant go line from HU, the line out of that amp, to line in on the second amp? thats all i need to know

If your amp has a line out that you can do that.

P.S.- Your car sounds really nice from reading your sig, got any pics of it? I wanted to get a 95-97 T-Bird, v8 of course...

You could do that, but i've heard of some amps that only have low/high-pass line outs so you may not get the signal you need to the other speakers. Try it out and see, but first i would look at your owners manual and see if you have 3 sets of preouts. That would make things alot easier.
