Simple noob amp install question...plz help asap!

bestbuy installed my first one, its a small amp to power my rear 6x9s....should I install the power for my sub amp directly to the battery then?

If it were me i'd go in there, speak to the manager, and chew them the **** out. An amplifier run to the fuse box? you gotta run a whole new power wire to your battery and then get a distribution block to run power wire to 2 amps.

jesus who the hell in their right mind would EVER run an amp wire from the fuse box even if they didn't work at Bunk Buy?

This is what you do. Take a small torch and melt your fuse housing a bit. Go in there and say you smelled something burning and pulled over and found the source which just happened to be the install done by teenage reject tards working for Bunk Buy.

Tell the manager if he doesn't replace your burnt fuse holder and do the install right and UPGRADE you wiring now you will sue. When he gives you a line say fine. Get his name call a lawyer and sue Bunk Buy. Let this be a lesson learned to never go there again.

Installing an amp in a mindless task and the hardest part about it is going through the firewall. All cars have hood release cables and holes located in the firewall for these cables to go through. Remove the rubber grommet and shove your wire through there 95% of the time and save the hassle of ever having to drill. I would never use anything less than 4 gauge wire running from my battery anyway as most people will get a second or third amp in the future.

As was stated above get a distribution block to run the 4 gauge in one side and run 8 gauge out the other side to power the amps.

In my book do things yourself and learn something while saving quite a bit of money and hassle. Do it right the first time and don't look back.
