coat the inside with fiberglas resin....won't have to worry about $#!t

maybe...so what? so would all the other bracing methods that were mentioned.

for the size of your enclosure and the sub that's going in it, 1/2" mdf is fine. I'd highly suggest you do a 1" face/baffle though (2 pieces of 1/2" mdf). Good luck with it!
