Silly stiffening cap question

I have one of those scosche 500K microF caps and when installed in the system the display showed it charging and then reached 12Vdc. My question is about the digital display... Does the display shut off after a bit where it is directly connected to the car battery, and just lights up if there is a voltage change when it needs regarding as required?

I'm still doing a deck,amp and sub installation and have everything installed except the deck at this point. Waiting for a wiring harness interface module to install so the deck can communicate with the CanBus and computer..

The reason for this question was because once everything was installed, all looked as it should, but when I looked at the cap, about 15 mins after power connection, the display was off... I started the vehicle and the display came on again and showed the charging voltage of 14Vdc and shortly after it went off again... Not sure if this was normal.

Ditch the scosche stiffening cap. It doesn't have enough capacitance to be useful and will actually cause more harm than good.
