I have a 96 toyota tercel and a sony xplod stereo. How do I run the signal wire to my amp for my subs? Is there a certain color wire in the back of the stereo i need to use?

Run a wire from the red wire behind your HU. It's the switched power wire.

power antenna wire if you don't have a remote wire and aren't using a power antenna.

depends. most i've seen are blue. you don't have a manual? if not. search the web for one.

I guess it doesn't really matter. Both are switched power wires.

Well there are 3 wires you can use. The one i have always used is blue/white stripe. Another is solid blue, which is a power fm antenna. Or the red wire, which is a signal wire to tell the radio to turn on. Just splice into it. Any of those will work.

Actually, using the power antenna wire isn't usually a good idea. Some decks drop the voltage on that line when you change the source away from the tuner. End result: the amps only turn on when listening to the radio and turn off when you change to CD, AUX, etc... Better to stick with the remote wire or the 12V switched wire.

The best way is to solder the wires together and then tape over the connection.

The second best way is to get some crimp on wire nuts. This is quicker too.

don't use the solid BLUEantenna wire use the prefered Blue/White amp remote wire or the Red accesorie wire to connect your amp...The red acc. wire may pick up turn on pops and such....
