I thought the same way untill I had a child.. tomorrow I'll ask my 4year old if he thinks the easter bunny may have come.. we'll find a list of clues, and will go hunt for a bit of candy and a couple toys I bought.. It will be fun, and the whole familly will enjoy it..As for me, I'll enjoy wine and turkey.. I am not seeing a downside to easter here..

No guilt whatsoever. I remember Christmas as a kid and knowing that long package behind the tree was a bb gun. Jeez I'd almost explode before Christmas got here.

No crime in giving kids Christmas. It would be more of a crime not to. I am not scarred in anyway thinking my folks lied to me. you'd have to be borderline psychotically emo to be butt hurt over realizing santa wasn't real when you got older. and such.

you fvcking real cool guy. Christmas was a part of being a kid. getting presents and such was a part of it. family bonding and being together was also a big part of it. i think as the kids grow up, it becomes a lesson they learn. its a lot more poinant that way than just telling them. it starts being less and less about presents and more and more about family time. im not spoiled and it didnt ruin my relation and trust in my parents.
