x2the MX is more in lin with those subs then the XXX imo but whatever floats your boat
if it is the JL wedge, then that woofer has more left in it. i have heard that woofer perform better in other boxes.Yea i'm thinkin about gettin the dub 7 too. My friends sellin it and i wanna check it out. But hes got the box made from jl. It sounded great in his car so i might give it a try.
Is there any way you can get me some dimensions for that box that you heard it in?if it is the JL wedge, then that woofer has more left in it. i have heard that woofer perform better in other boxes.
not now anway, i dont even think he has that car anymore. my boxes are long gone. let me talk and see if i can dig some up.Is there any way you can get me some dimensions for that box that you heard it in?
Alright just shoot me a pm if you find anything out. Thanksnot now anway, i dont even think he has that car anymore. my boxes are long gone. let me talk and see if i can dig some up.
not arguing your personal preference, but you are also comparing a 15 to a 13.5. power and install is always a major factor. i have heard some W7's sound great, they are a well built woofer that proves themselves over and over again.Well being a former owner of both (of course I had a 13W7 and also owned a 15" Mag) I can honestly say personally I prefered the Magnum. The 13W7 is a very impressive sub (as is the 12W7 I am sure) however when I heard my 15" magnum the first time I was in love! To my ears the mag is simply the best sounding sub I have ever owned. The W7 sounded great dont get me wrong. I am sure you would be happy with either, just saying to me the Mag was marginally better.
There really isn't that much of a difference in cone area between a 13W7 and a 15" mag.not arguing your personal preference, but you are also comparing a 15 to a 13.5. power and install is always a major factor. i have heard some W7's sound great, they are a well built woofer that proves themselves over and over again.
Well it is the best comparison I can make since they dont make a "15W7" now do they LOL...But both were used in box sizes reccomended by the manufacturer, and both saw roughly 1200wrms give or take and both were in the same vehicle (Mine).. Also since I built all the boxes used, I have to think that even if you tried to argue that my box building is questionable (which i would have to say it most definately isnt) at least it would be consistent (considering i built them all). Both the ported boxes were tuned to the same freq. of 28hz. The mag was in 2.5 ft^3 (net) sealed (which some may say is a tad small) and a ported box of 3ft^3 (net) tuned to 28hz (slot vented), JL was in 2ft^3 (net) sealed and ported box of 2.4ft^3 (net) tuned to 28hz (slot vented). I really dont know how to make a comparison any more even...Barring JL releasing an actual 15...But since they make a 12 and not a 15 they must think that the 13.5 is plenty. And dont get me wrong the JL was awesome! A straight up amazing sub, just not as amazing as the mag and to me was somewhat boomy especially after hearing the mag...Like I said take it for what it is worth, this dude wanted opinions on 2 subs I happened to have owned each of, so I give him an opinion....an honest opinion.not arguing your personal preference, but you are also comparing a 15 to a 13.5. power and install is always a major factor. i have heard some W7's sound great, they are a well built woofer that proves themselves over and over again.
wooshy is most likely related to box design since i never had that problem.12 and 13.5 w7's are infamous for the "wooshy" sound.
Boo 12 and 13.5's.
The w7 is an awsome driver, Ill let you know what I think of the mage once I get it installed.
