SI Mags or JL 12w7

Hi I narrow down to two subs. Price doesn't matter to me. Which one are better? I talk to a pro at a audio store that does alot of competition. I told him about SI mags and he said they are alright. Also told him about the JL 12w7. He said the JL 12w7 are better SQ but not a $200 difference. Price doesn't matter to me is the extra 100-200 worth it on JL's or should I go with SI mag or Dual 12w3v3's...

i've still never heard a w7 before, but i'd LOVE to hear a SI Mag.

honestly, at this point its whatever you want. your mind will tell you what you want. if you think a w7 honestly will beat it out, get that then.. because if you dont. you'll have the si and always be wishing you had the w7 and visa versa.

also look at the new xxx, and the new BA oval sub.

but in the end, its all in the mind, sq is subjective. Its like the chevy versus ford debate... just choose what you'd rather people see, and you have. and thats what is better.

because in the end, the only thing that matters is that you can live with it. and that you feel better for buying it.

i could get a w7 right now, and a friend could get a idmax.

if he thinks the idmax sounds better, than it does. and he spent his money alot better.

i find myself asking the same question... i am probably keeping the mag, just cuz my amp suits it better.

This is some of the best advice I've seen on CA. com on these type of threads.

Just get what you want. Both of the subs you mentioned are great. You know the price difference. If the JL will truely make you happy and you can afford it - get it and never look back. If you want to be different and save a little, the MAG is your choice.

Yep, it is all about what you want and what you can afford. They guy that works in the store next to mine has a 12w7 in a real badass install. It sounds incredible off his pg ti 800w amp. I love how his sounds. Get what you want and do what you do.

the MX is more in lin with those subs then the XXX imo but whatever floats your boat

a friend of mine has a w7 ported with a 1000/1 in his 2dr tahoe, it will knock your socks off. my few w7 setups have been exceptional sound wise. its all in the install. they are kind of sensitive to box design as well.

Yea i'm thinkin about gettin the dub 7 too. My friends sellin it and i wanna check it out. But hes got the box made from jl. It sounded great in his car so i might give it a try.

I would recommend getting around to listening to both. If you can't the only advice I could give is to flip a coin. =\
