SI mag off 600 rms?

i was thinking of getting a 15'' rl-p but then ive been reading up on mags and the new ones supposedly **** rl-p's. so heres my question, an rl-p can run off 600 rms fine but would it just be stupid to give a 15'' si mag only 600 rms?

Nope. Our 15" Mag's are more efficient than our 12" Mag's are and our 12" Mag's run fine off of 600 watts. ...in other words a 15" will perform very well off of 600 watts. Run that until you can save up for a bigger amp and get everything out of the Mag that it was designed for.

I loved the MAG off 450watts, got it to near full extension, sounded excellent

 

 

 

 

 

and I would not say it rapes the RL-p, both are very good subs from my tests

Is the mag worth almost twice the price? 15" 1000RMS for ref.?

the price is set different, SI is on a dealer network now, and SS is sold direct

 

that changes the price of everything

alright next question, and im sure its been asked else where but since i started a thread on si mags i might as well ask here, is a 15'' mag worth almost double the price of a 15'' rl-p? i have no problem spending some extra cash for a great product but will it be a night and day difference?

is the price difference justified, some may say no. However the old MAG used the same motor that the rl-p has and the new MAG is better than the old. So, would i choose the MAG over the RL-p with the price difference, yes i would and i have. I'm sure you'll be happy with either but i choose the MAG so i wouldn't have any regrets and i don't. I used to have a ED e15a which used the same motor as the rl-p and i can tell you the MAG has better sq and more output than my old e15a.hth

Just because it's the same motor does not mean it will be the same or even similar driver.

IMO, you can't find a better driver for the money than the Mag. It's versatility is unmatched in any other driver I've ever used. If it will fit in your budget, I'd suggest purchasing it. You won't be disappointed.

Now if I had an unlimited budget, I'd buy the Critical Mass subwoofer that CA&E just reviewed, because they called it, "THE ULTIMATE SUBWOOFER." $2500 better be the best. . . . .

Yes sir...My 12" mag is running off 600rms and shakes the piss out of my truck. Also the best sub I have heard to date.
