thats not bad either. just double wrap the battery and then screw the metal to the wood on both sides.. that should do just fine. what is "this stuff" called lol

it's just metal strapping. any hardware store should have it. i doubled it up on itself (2-ply) and just went over the top of the battery and screwed it directly into my trunk floor.

Take some huge bolts and drill directly through your battery and into your frame it will be secure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But really just about anything that holds it secure will work. I have seen bungy cords, wire strap, battery boxes and even some that were held by the connections themselves.

I would however recommend slapping 5 pieces of wood together and mounting it somewhere out of the way though.

Can't find a good pic of it now, but I have a false floor, so just screwed down a scrap piece of MDF in front of the battery. Battery is in the corner of my trunk so the other 3 sides are already blocked off, just threw the slab of MDF in front of it and bam //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Works like a charm, and once I paint it or carpet it it'll look nice too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Is there anything holding the top down? Why do people think that surrounding the sides of a batt is securing it down. Look under your hood and see how the OEM's do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I see NOTHING holding the batts down. Car goes on it's side or rolls over and you get to enjoy the fireworks show //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
Well he's got 12 wires connected to it and a bus bar so he has some help.

If you think thats unsafe, you don't want to see my truck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Used to, but it was executed badly and didn't like the way it looked. Was done sloppily. Will probably redo it some day nicely, but until then, Nope. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Might mill something out of aluminum and anodize it black... Not sure yet, and not really worried //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.

I had a battery tray that bolted to the floor of the truck, then metal strap over the top with bolts to the tray securing the batt down, hated the thought of a few 80lb projectiles in the truck with me if I ever got in a wreck:
