Should i trade amps

friends selling his sound system, asked me if i wanted to trade amps, im still using the JBL, he has a skar t2000.1d..... Im using the D2 sundowns, so im not sure if by the time i wires it up if it would still give me more power or not.

Skar amps are just as solid as all the big boy amps. I hate skar but the skar 2k is better then the Jbl if you run the skar @ .5ohm it will be louder for sure... OP see if your buddy will let you swap and see how it sounds. Wire it to .5ohm and your system will come alive

The Skar might clamp more, but its still an inferior amp. The jbl is rated at .05% thd and 109 signal to noise. For those reasons id prefer the jbl. Also, I believe the T series are Chinese made versions of Korean boards

Won't notice a difference in SQ on substage , this isn't a 100% sq car.

Correct that line is not Korean made. With proper elec the skar can be ran at .5 no issue.. Prob gain an extra 2-300 watts vs 1ohm... The jbl is better built but the skar will do more power without question.. A noticable increase in power.

That jbl will inch up to about 1800 @ 1% thd which is where the Skar will make its power. We are probably talking .2 or .3 on the TL in favor of the Skar. I honestly don't expect a huge difference.

Actually interested in the feedback on drop in results to see if its audible. Little less power but cleaner power vs little more power but little less quality

im waiting for him to respond, i think hes at work at the moment, plus1 of my sundown is in the process of being returned to me after manufacture error they determined, should be here any day now, theyve had my sub since before christmas and just shipped it back this week ,not sure if i should be irritated or not haha
