i have 2 10" alpine type r dual 2 subs i had an ad out on CL selling them. guy ask me if i want to trade for a RE SX. iv never herd one in person. is this a good trade or should i keep the alpines?

I've used both, and i liked my R's better (this is comparing two 15" Type-Rs to two 18" SX's on 1krms a piece)

What didn't you like about the setup with the R's? Or just trying to make money and someone threw an offer on the table and thought to yourself, I wonder how that would sound?

lol i picked up an L7 12" from on here. running the same power as the 2 alpines and the L7 is quite a bit louder. we are only talking 600wrms here... and the L7 is in a tiny sealed box. im gonna build a box soon. really i need to sell something so i can buy some lowering springs for my car

Were the R's in a sealed enclosure as well?

I would think two R's off at least 1000rms would be louder than 1 L7 off 600rms, but it is all in the install, so maybe.

the sx would be louder than the l7's and sound better also...not that hollow bass kicker produces.

I had sealed R's as well and did over 140 with two D4 12's, lol! Sounded good to boot! They do shine in ported though.

I say get a nice ported box for them and throw a good 600 plus RMS to each one.
