Ok well i blew my polk sub a while back and finally got around to getting a new 12" kicker l7 installed last night

I ran 4 gauge copper wire that i got from home depot from the batt to the amp and amp to ground. then i ran some 10 gauge to my sub. the 10 gauge is aircraft grade (my dad brought it home from delta, hes a mech. there)

its a dvc sub being powered by the 750.1 amp at 2 ohms.

is this wire sufficient for what im using it for or should i look in to better wire?

ya its all stranded. i just wanted to make sure cause so far i blew my 12" polk and a really old 12" kicker i used to replace the polk so now i wanna get it right, i think i just need to learn to tune my system properly.

yeah some of your big boys like to run 8 gauge to their subs from the amps, and alot of the guys run welding cable (im guessing close to what the 4g is you got from home depot) should be fine, keep the sub sonic between 20-28, your low pass between 60-90 and set your gains properly. Don't forget to break in that L7 from what i understand and i don't know first hand, but the L7's require a good break in
