Shotgun question....

I used a custom Beretta over and under that was heavily modified to shoot clay targets with, trap mostly. Went to shooting competitions all over middle TN. If you want a longer range shotgun for hunting or shooting slugs, you may want something a little different than what I said above.

For home defense, you don't want an auto IMO because shotguns have a lot of residue issues typically. Automatic shotguns jam regularly after shooting them some. You want the short barrel so you can aim around walls and stuff without hitting the barrel on everything, and the full stock you definitely want for both recoil and aiming down the site accuracy.

I have several old Remingtons. Great guns. The ones from the last few years were hit or miss on the quality. Especially fit and finish. One of the guys I used to work with got a job at academy sports. He showed me a picture of a 870 pump that the stock was at least a 1/2 inch too wide to fit the receiver. Brand new in the box from Remington.

Damn that's crazy. I've never had a problem with them personally, and I've shot many a Remington. I just remember hearing about it in the news.
