Every diagram I've seen has 1 long run of 1/0awg and distributes the power near the trunk with 2 short runs of 4awg.

Is there any problem with having a single 12"-14" run of 1/0g to a fused distribution block in the engine bay, and then have two long runs of 4g to the trunk?

I only ask because I already have all the wire for this setup and with the limited space and tight turns under my carpet it will be easier to run 2x4g to the trunk rather than a single 1/0.

The best thing you can do is make a solid plan. This way you won't be spending money twice and having to keep going back in add or replace parts.

Don't crimp if you can't do it properly. Twist and heat shrink can make an solid connection.
