Shark Audio??????

My setup sure didn't sound distorted. Sounded better than most of the stuff I heard at heatwave.
Lol notice how its at .5 ohms for one not just that tell me how many amps can even run at .5 ohms without frying to begin with. So they cant be complete garbage is they are taking it

I've seen people run 2k to a single XFL with no problems so that's not saying much lol
I was just sayin my experience with them didnt harm my subs in any way and with 2or3 months of clipped or dirty signal would surely have shown some negitive results from ur own statement. Im not sayin they are great but def not the woofer cookers/destroyers u and some others like to claim they are.

My thoughts exactly I won't deny there may be some distortion but most SPL set ups for example are nothing but distortion and I'm not even going for those extremes I really don't think they are AS bad as people say or try to make it out to be.

Also nice to see a CIVIL debate for a change

Used them, didn't have problems.

Even strapped at 1 ohms subs didn't get warm. Clipping at that power should have made my subs get warm/hot, but they didn't.

For the price I was happy. They aren't garbage like you are making them out to be, and they were out before the APSM series, years before.

My "APSM clone" comment didn't neccessarily mean it's a copy of the APSM, per se... Just that it's the same thing. A friend and I installed an APSM1500 on a pair of Type Rs and fried the coil on one of the subs after a few weeks. We set the gains correctly by ear (turning up the volume until it doesn't get audibly louder any more, then backing off of the gain slightly) That's "750w" blowing the coil of a sub rated for 1000w.

This just goes to show how distorted/clipped the power that this amp puts out is... And for everyone in this thread that doesn't undertsand what I just said, I'll break it down:

1. Clipping/distortion causes much higher than normal heat - more clipping = more heat

2. Heat destroys coils of subs

3. Smoke

I used an APSM on my skar VVX 10s for months and never had a problem. Idk what you did wrong. Friend has the amp now on his VVME 10s and he doesn't have any problems either.

Not that I'm trying to praise AP, but they don't just blow subs quick like that.
