I hear you. My aunt has been a stylist as long as I can remember. Plus I have a really good relaationship with the people at my salon. And my old roomate's girlfriend is currentyly in cosmetology school

Also bad for your hair.

Not great, no. But it is better than most mega-mart brands, and it keeps my hair fairly moisturized. Nowhere near as good as my salon stuff, but probably the best cheapo stuff I've used

Mines not perfect either, but it looks like a skull...What do you expect really? I haven't met a single person that says I look worse now than before. That or they are all lying bastards, but I trust my friends. They tend to be very blunt and honest.
