so looking at the bms specs on the website, thier rms is 500w correct? any idea what the max is?

RMS is a rating of how much power they can handle in the specified enclosure(s). RMS power handling is the most amount of power you should supply one with and is also what we cover under warranty (any more power in any different enclosure could possibly damage the driver, which is user error / abuse and is not covered under warranty). If you're asking about "max" for competitions, it really doesn't matter because at that point you should know how much they can handle and you may have been better off with another subwoofer. Sorry, but we won't supply a max rating because of the above reason(s).

And yes, in the recommended enclosure(s) the BM's power handling is 500 watts.

If you can wait for it the SI BM 12 is going to be a pretty awesome shallow driver! Easily comparable or better than MUCH more expensive shallow solutions.

I didn't mention parameters at all, which will determine how low the sub plays in a specified enclosure type and size. Let me say that again - I didn't mention parameters AT ALL.

Electo or Jacob, there's one spec I'd love to know about the BM 12: the recommended sealed enclosure size. Is this something you can disclose right now?

I was comparing the MTX, the RE, the Sundown, and the SI and I think I'm sold on the SI because of the 3.5" mounting depth, the RMS power handling, and the 0.5cf recommended enclosure size (Electro and Jacob: disregard my previous question, as the answer is posted right on the web site.... reading ftw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif).

Recommended sealed enclosure volume is 0.5 cubic feet.*

The enclosure recommendation is after driver displacement. The new BM will displace ~0.07 ft^3
