Anyone ever run with Daytons? (specs seemed pretty solid)

I'm looking to purchase x2 high quality shallow mount subs (10") for under the bench in my Tahoe...I'd like to keep it under $500 for both subs.

I prefer quality of sound over loudness....recommendations?

Memphis SClass. I just recently picked up a 12" MClass for my Expedition (wanted to keep the 3rd row seats). Gets loud and sounds good as well.

I saw those Sterio Integrity subs and the reviews were amazing...unfortunately I think they're only made in 12".

I found ~10 shallow subs and my cousin also chose the Daytons out of everything i sent him...what makes those "better" then the rest?

The Dayton looks to be of the highest quality construction. Also, the neodymium is stronger than ferrite, making the motor more powerful than on most other slim subs.

I have a question about the neo woofer... a large ferrite magnet also acts like a heatsink to wick heat away from the coil, now with a neo magnet it is much strongers but TINY when compared to a normal magnet, is that going to be a problem? A coil getting 1500 watts can burn your hand if you hold it.

Could be why most big neo motor subs have slabs of neo spaced out.

Large slabs of ferrite do not act like a heatsink as you might think they would. A large slab of metal, or magnet, keeps heat in more than it wicks heat away. Take a look at large actual heat sinks (think of a computer processor heat sink) - they are full of small fins, not a big slab, which allows heat to dissipate from the material. Also neo can be up to 10x stronger than ferrite so you don't need nearly as much of it to achieve the same amount of BL as compared to a standard ferrite slug. That is why the BM mkIII uses 10 small slugs of neo compared to the mkII version. The mkIII has higher BL and better cooling (air movement around the voice coil is key to keeping the voice coil cool) compared to its single ferrite predecessor.
