Shallow mount subs?

PMed
Sorry to the OP, I didn't mean to thread jack, moved this discussion to PMs.
NP - 'tis fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Would the MA's sound good only half powered? Accordingly, I'd have the gains set correctly to avoid clipping the amp.

My only gripe there is the underpowered fact - I'd be putting way less than half its rated power through, and in a much smaller enclosure than recommended. Though, putting both of those together means it might work fine.

My other gripe is that as I'm 17, I'll be paying my parents to buy these, and they would prefer an authorized dealer. I might be able to get around that, as it's an excellent subwoofer from what I can see, but that would take a bit of work.

Also, I'm not looking for anything SPL - purely SQL through and through.

It depends on the box your putting it in as far as the power it can handle.

.75 qft (requires 1000W for full output)

1.0 qft (requires 800W for full output)

1.25 qft vented at 50 Hz (requires 400W for full output)

As for an authorized dealer, Good luck getting a online retailer to fix anything for you. The reps here are worth more as far as I am concerned. No pressure, you know what is right for your situation.

and the min I would let one go for it $250. So that may make your decision for you.

good luck!

Yeah, that might. It'd be a bit over budget - I'll have to see within the week or so, I'll send you off a PM if so ^^ (As in, if it's within my budget)

Personally, I'd much rather buy from a person I can talk to - but if I'm not actually putting out the online bill, then it's not fully my decision, though I can influence it. Not anything against you from me, just the random crap my parents put against people they've never met -.-

Thanks ^^

I have the Kicker 8" Shallow's, and they are okay. If its a small cab (like a reg. cab ranger) they will be decent. Anything larger, and they aren't loud/low enough.
