Shallow mount IB subs? Do they exist?

I wouldn't call that IB
See that's my dilemma, I didn't know if it would count as IB or not. I was asking Nismos14 about it, and he said it would be IB, since the quarter panel itself would be the enclosure, the same way a trunk is the enclosure for the usual IB set up. I'm a newb when it comes to IB, so I'm not really sure...

IB is simple to define. It requires complete seperation of front and rear waves, and a multiple of Vas (4x+ for most ppl). Acheiving IB is much harder than defining it however.

Approximate how much space you have in the qarterpanel 'enclosure' and then see how that compares to your speaker's Vas. Should give you an idea if you are even in the ballpark.

Open Baffle is the term you are looking for, not infinite baffle. Open baffle means the driver is not acoustically loaded on either side of the cone but the baffle is of a limited size.

How shallow is shallow? The Exodus DPL-10 is pretty shallow. It was about 6.5" deep or maybe a little less. You could email them to find out exactly as I don't believe they have it posted anywhere:
