Need suggestions for a SQ setup in a 78 Buick Electra Ltd. I have about $2000 to spend on 2 12's or 2 15's (leaning towards 12's), mids/highs, and amps. I want the system to sound good and still get low and loud without having to put 50 speakers in my doors and 6 subs in my trunk. I've been looking at a few brands such as TC Sounds, Fi, Image Dynamics, and Xtant. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i'd go with tc, fi, or re.

Any suggestions on mids and highs? And amps?
Well I have the following for ya...

**** near new PG Ti12D Elite Sub. Handles 1200-1500w daily. Put it in a box that's about 2.2^ @ 33hz and brace yourself. $265 shipped (+ gaypal if you choose to use it)

CDT Satnet 456 crossovers. I have two of these left over from an old comp set of mine. They handle up to 120w, they have one input for mids on each and two inputs for tweeters on each. $50 shipped (=gaypal if you choose to use it)

Single sub setups can be crazy loud if you make the box right and set your gains accordingly.

id put the 2k towards a new car imho.
Lol smh nah I have a newer car and I wanted an old school to fix up. This is my little project. Plus I want to prove to my brother that you dont have to put 50 speakers in a car for it to be loud and sound good/clean.

what kind of power are you looking for?
an electrical upgrade or two would be necessary

what are you looking for in your system sq or spl wise?
Yea i know i'd have to do an electrical upgrade. I'd say between 1000-1500 watts as far as power goes. And i'm looking for clean loud sq

I say 2 12" Stereo Integrity Magnums, either 2 old ones or wait for the new ones to come out. But then you're gonna have to have 2000-3000 watts to power them.

Since you want between 1000-1500 watts, I say go with a couple 12" Stereo Integrity BMs with around 1000-1500 watts, maybe from an eD nine.1 or a Sundown 1500D.

But if you're going to spend 2000 on the sub-stage I don't see why you don't up the power a bit and really make some noise.

I'm only spending about 2000 on the whole system all together not just on subs. I've been pricing Fi Q and the TC 2000 at 259 and 249 and there are a pair of RE SX 12's on ebay for 443. So now its all about amps, and components

Ah I see. The SI BMs handle around 500 rms and are only $170 a piece right now (they are usually $280). So a pair of those with a 1000 rms amp will do you good for the subs. Then you need components and a component amp. Do you want 6.5s or 5.25s or some sort of 6x9s (what fits in the car)?
