Alright im transfering my old system form my otehr car that broke to my new car. I dont know where to put my amp. Its a 95 mazda protege LX. I was thinking the back of the rear seats but i dont know if i wanna do that/ dont dont knwo if thats the best place. I cant mount it to the box i have because the amp is too big. Any suggestions?

back of the seats is a favorite for lotsa people. Bascially anywhere it can fit.. Just make a peice of board for it, and attach the board, that always seems easiest..

i got a '96 626 and i have my sub amp on the driver's side back seat(mine is wider on that side,same as the protege?) and my smaller mid amp on the passenger side. it works, and i know the backs of my seats are about 3/4in. plastic that holds wood screws pretty well. hopefully mazda wouldn't have done anything TOO drastic in their overall production style between '95-'96.

and it takes a thief longer to unscrew it off the back seat, then grab the subs than just grab the subs.

so do you think thats the best place to put it? Im planning on getting another amp for the 4 inside speakers so how should i plan for that. i imagin that amp wil be bigger then the 2 channel running the subs

do you have the split back seat? if you can fit the 2-channel sub amp on the passenger side, then you can easily fit a 4-channel on the driver's side.

Yeah its split and the drivers side is a little bigger because of the 3rd "seat" in the back. So theres plastic on the seat that i can screw into? How long should the screws be so they dont poke whoever sits in the seat but will hold it securly?

probably an inch should hold it on there. wood screws with some grip-ability should do just fine. i would say mount a good 4-6 inches from the trunk floor, and then anchor the wires to the back of the seat so they don't stress the terminals/pull wires out when you open/close the seat. it should come out nice. i THINK you can kind of look under the carpet on the back of the seat and see the plastic, make sure tho..
