Setup for a Grand Cherokee

I just bought a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and I am putting together a system. I have been doing as much reading and research on these forums as I can, and I have come up with what I think is best for me. My budget is around $1200

HU - Pioneer Premier DEH-P700BT - $260

Subs - Alpine 12" Type R 4 Ohm - $140 x2

Amp - Hifonics BXi1608D - $220

Speakers

Option 1 I would try to get the 3.5" to fit the 2.5" dash, option 2 I would get a bracket for the component tweets to go in the dash. I would like to avoid drilling.

Front

#1

3.5 - Rainbow KX 87 - $80

6.5 - Rainbow KX 165 - $110

#2

6.5 - Rainbow SLX 265 - $190

I definitely want speakers in the back, I'm thinking midrange subs. Will that sound bad to people riding in back though?

Rear

6.5 - Rainbow W 165 SLC NG - $160

This puts me right at about 1200, and I still need a box, which I will probably buy locally. Can someone rate this setup and give me any suggestions? Which would be a better front stage? Do the Rainbows NEED an amp?

How about option #3

ID CTX65 comps up front &/

ID CTX65 coaxials for the rear

Anyway, Yes you'll want to amp your front stage & I'd cross option #1 off your list

And btw all your links are to woofers home page

****, I dont know why it keeps shortening the links on me.

Well thanks for replying to post on both sites //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but I think Im gonna stick with the Rainbows. I figured the components would be better. Im just worried the tweeters might sound bad mounted in the dash

I have a '95 Grand Cherokee & have had good results w/ the tweets in the dash location.

Also I wouldn't go w/ midrange subs in the rear (you want those in front of you). I'm not a fan of rear fill in general. But I have some coaxes in the rear doors that I can turn on when I have back seat passengers. They're only powered off hu power & suffice for their purpose (no complaints yet). Anyway, good luck.

You didn't say authorized, but they do "deal" w/ Rainbow products. And I don't believe I've enlightened you w/ any of my theories (but I'd like to hear yours) Are you saying they are fakes or what? I'm not here to argue, just would like to be informed.

What I said was that they are not a dealer. A dealer is a person/shop that buys and sells products. woofers does not buy Rainbow from them or elsewhere. They bought one time when the former distributor decided to dump their load.

They sell what they have and thats it. Not endorsed or backed by Rainbow at all, nor do they 'deal ' with Rainbow the company. Need more information? Contact Rainbow directly.

BTW ..these are not theories, theyre simply facts.

No. Theyre not authorized or a dealer. A dealer can and does buy and resell, they cannot, so by definition they are not a 'dealer' either.

If I have a six pack of beer in my fridge and I sell each can individually, does that make me a dealer?
