Setup except HU for $1000

Ok so I'm a little confused but I'm learning a lot from the suggestions and doing research. Unfortunately I don't know where to hear all this high end stuff so I'm doing my research here, taking the plunge, and trying to install everything myself.

1) Do SQ setups, say with a 10" Fi SSD/FiQ, or 10" IDQ10V3 get loud enough to hear over a medium loud exhaust?

That is the main problem with my Alpine 9815 + stock speakers setup, my speakers start cracking after a certain volume so I can't crank it much over my exhaust.

2) Some of my issues: Looks are a plus (shows)! weight, size, sub will have to be in a closed off trunk (WRX). Probably won't do sound deadening first. I like tight strong low end, forward mids, clear highs (rock, trance, some pop). I hate harsh crisp highs. I prefer a balance between a rich, smooth, and clean. I really don't want to spend more than $1200 for everything if possible. So please keep these in mind.

3) Differences/pref between Rainbow SLC 265 $300 vs CDT EF-61FG $200 vs CDT ES-610 $300?

4) Differences/pref between Fi SSD $180 vs FiQ $280 vs IDQ10V3 $150?

5) Will that Audison SRX 4ch 340watt $250 amp be enough ? How does it compare to Alpine PDX 4.100 $290 and Sundown refurb 100.4 $260?

6) Differences/pref b/w Audioque 1200D $250 vs Sundown refurb 1000.1 $250 vs Alpine PDX 600.1 $290 vs Alpine M-1000 $270

7) Does 0 gauge wiring really cost $250?! 4 gauge wiring $120?!

Good! It should be that way with far more people, but a lot are too scared.

I wouldn't necessarily call the SSD an SQ sub, but yes, they have the potential to get really loud.

Just by reviews, I have seen more good than bad about Rainbow, than I have over CDT. I have no personal experience.

4) Differences/pref between Fi SSD $180 vs FiQ $280 vs IDQ10V3 $150?
Power handling, and sound quality. You won't get anywhere with these subs if you're not installing them properly, make sure you look closely at enclosures!!!

5) Will that Audison SRX 4ch 340watt $250 amp be enough ? How does it compare to Alpine PDX 4.100 $290 and Sundown refurb 100.4 $260?
Do not look at amps, until you find the speakers you absolutely want.

6) Differences/pref b/w Audioque 1200D $250 vs Sundown refurb 1000.1 $250 vs Alpine PDX 600.1 $290 vs Alpine M-1000 $270
The AudioQue (IMHO) is the best buy out of the choices, great power, rave reviews, and does rated power. Great amp for the price.

7) Does 0 gauge wiring really cost $250?! 4 gauge wiring $120?!

How much 1/0 wiring are you needing? Where'd you look into prices? Have you tried KnuKonceptz.com? I have a shit load of their wiring, and it's never failed me, in any way. (Durability, pricing, great wiring for a great price. I'll never buy from another wiring source again.)

If you are going for SQ I would look at your comps more than I would your sub.... Even if that means running a good set of comps and an amp for them and then add the sub or subs at a later date. I would def splurge, so to speak on the comps.

Just my .02....

when I said the price for 0 gauge I was including battery terminals a 2 channel set of rca's a 4 channel set of rca's speaker wire to run your x overs in the rear 0 gauge to the back distro block from the 0 to 4 gauge to run to each amp also a distro and wire to run the 4 gauge grounds to a ground distro to 0 gauge to ground the amps together to have a lower chance of engine noise.

The price I said for the 4 gauge kit's was counting 2 kits one for each amp and the battery posts to keep it looking clean and working right under the hood

This is the reason for the price. And that was from KnuKonceptz.com

I have 2 8 inch dd 1508's in a T-line enclosure desinged by pete "hexibase" with a memphis 1000d and cdt hd m6+ component set with 250 watts to each side. I drive a 93 honda civic with a strait exhaust with a flowmaster delta 60 on it. No deadening at the point in time. Gets loud enough for people to think it is 12s in the car (has alot to do with the eficentcy of the enclosure) goes from 30hz-100hz and components handle the rest. You can't hear my engine unless I am at around 5K+ rpm in my car or if I am going 85 down the highway with the windows open you can hear some engine noise but it is more than audible to hear the system.

(I have alot of work to do to my car I know I bought it this way)

As for the difrence in speakers exige would be better to tell you the difrence in the cdt's I personal don't know anything about the rainbows so won't even try. As for the amps I agree the audioque amp is the best bang for the buck and if I am not mistaken might be a couple hundred watts under rated I said the sundown just incase you wanted everything to match. There is talk of audioque coming out with there 4 channel amp its on there site even just not a release date as of right now. For choice between the others I personaly like the sundown and the ability to use it in a active component set using 2 channels to bandpass the mid/midbass and the other 2 channels to put a highpass on the tweeters. I have not used the other 3 to be able to tell you much about them.

if you are going for SQ, sound deadening is a MUST! its probably the first thing you should do.

Cool, I think I'm going to take your advice and splurge a little on the comps and Get some Rainbow SLC 265's. Do you guys know any good vendors for them?

Is the extra $60 for the Kick version worth it? What would I need to know about the Kick version?

They say Max 150 Watt so do I need a 4.150 amp? Any recommended amps to go with the slc 265's?

I will also take your advice and sound deaden. Only the fronts needed to be deadened right?

Is it ok to run the SLC's with just an amp and no sub for bass? I usually turn on the MX Bass feature on my Alpine 9815 as it is

If you are planning on adding more sound later I would just sound deaden the entire car now... Take a look at the US Amps MD-43 That is what I run and I really like it... Others on the board will support my choice. I have those CDTs for sale if you are interested.... Give me a shout on my cell and we can talk. (904) 472-7185
