setting gains?

my amp is a 800w logic plx28 and 2 12" sony xplods. the amp is rated at 200rms and the subs are 300rms so could i turn the gains all the way up and it wouldnt wreck the subs or amp right?

WRONG!! that amp will clip and destroy your subs. read the gain setting tutorial. the gain is used to match the output voltage from the headunit with the amp.

there are many tutorials on how to set the gain properly, forget anything u have heard until you read the tutorial, i reccomend reading it twice, and even printing it out when u set your gains. its a life saver if u dont know what ur doing
