Any disadvantages of doing this? I know every hu is different. Hu is new pioneer 8400bh. Currently set both high amp and sub amp at like 55 and it goes to 62. Will be looking to set them all again once the new sub is in the trunk. Any opinions guys?

Use an o-scope and use -3db tones? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

You are correct though, every H/U is different and there are a plethora of variables. From user error to some guy on the production floor decided to put in a lower quality component just to **** someone off.

Good luck though! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

We have ran up many HUs on the DD-1 to find the clipping point. All the pioneer decks we checked clip pretty easy on the front preouts, not as bad on the sub. It happened a bit over 75% but not much.
Any eclipse decks tested?? I have been told they are like the alpines and can be maxed out without clipping but I have also been told different. Not that it matters as I max out at 55 even though my HU goes upto 75.. Never to careful..

No eclipse, the alpines have always ran up to max or very close to it. Even my old hated W404. Kenwood, JVC is on the same level as pioneer for the most part.
