serpentine belt size?

Hello I recently got a new ho alt with a smaller pulley size I need some help figuring out what size belt I need. All the info I know is its a 2006 dodge stratus oringally has a 2 7/8 inch pulley the only on the alt is 1 7/8 inch I dont know the stock length of the belt I've spent hours on Google and nothing but replacement belts in different sizes pop up.

Go to parts store.. Have them measure stock belt. Get a one inch smaller belt.

Should say the length on your stock belt, but yeah go to the parts store and get one.

I had to order a custom length when I got my fourth alternator on. Was $86 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif but yours should be cheaper

And 1 inch smaller since the pulley is 1 inch smaller as well?

Doesn't work like that. An inch in diameter adds a lot more to the circumference, but would probably be close enough. Might want to get a belt 1.5 inches longer. Possibly two inches. Just have it measured

Can't measure it because I live 45 mins from my closest part store, so i would have to take the alt out put on new pulley measure then take the pulley off again and go to the store, would take me hours.
