Seriously now... IA 20.1 vs. Orion 2500D NO BS

I just use a plain ole - nothing special dmm (reads dead on with my fluke) and a Craftsman True RMS Clamp meter... nothing special about that meter either. They work just fine for me, and it's what I've been using since the beginning... just to keep my own personal comparisons consistent.

YOU trying to clear things up?!?!?!
LAWL ROFFLE LAWL...now that's a good one.

Wait...wait...every be quiet and listen...he'll clear things up for us...

your mental challenges become more apparant in every post.

I'm not clearing things up, I'm attempting to get someone to clear things up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

That makes sense, "my mental challenges"...lol...

So every time I post, I'm posting a mental challenge to you...

I challenge you SIR!

PS: I'm done, I'll leave you alone now... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yea, I think that is going to hurt IA sales in the end... it was designed and given that rating for competitors... so if the general public is looking for an amp capable of over 5kw of all out power they wouldnt even consider the 20.1 without already knowing it's capabilities.
Well,if the IA does 2500+ watts@1ohm and they are sandbagging

then your'd be correct in saying it could hurt sales, because I ended up with the 2500D not because I thought it was a great amp,I think its average actually but because it met my needs and it was big and cheap,Diamond is coming out with a D92000.1 thats supposed to be very underrated (just like my D61500.1 is) but I cant wait and everything else I looked at was twice the price as the 2500D

The Q of WHY hasn't been answered.
Or is my 2500d putting out 4800 watts?

Whats the point of a true RMS meter...?
True RMS meters take the peaks out of AC/DC amperage readings... burp or no burp it reads the same... I can take my clamp off peak hold and burp it and hold it and the amperage output doesnt change (unless input voltage drops).

Well, there has to be a standard form of measurement... I was under the impression volts x current x .707 was the standard for measuring RMS power?

I'd prefer to get an accurate measurement of how much power I'm getting.

There is... it's called CEA ratings... that is the only standard established to my knowlege. To be honest I'm not sure how they take their measurements. I have seen a lot of people use the .707 method, and to be honest I dont understand why. To be honest it dont really matter to me, I use the readings I get, and that is all I compare to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Less math work too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

maybe .707 as an efficiency rating?

When looking at the voltage x current method, it seems as though that formula doesn't account for an efficiency of any kind. Unless efficiency doesn't have to be calculated in to this kind of measurement.

To determine the effeciency you would have to take the dc current into account. I also take dc current measurements along with voltage drop, but dont usually attempt to find out the effeciency... this could be important info for street class competitors, but dont really apply in my situation (100 batts)

bwahahhahahahahahahahahah
"that box used to have a 10" speaker in it. Took it to a couple competitions. Hit 180db".

hahahahaha @ prefab sealed box with 180db 10" sub

PS. there's another sawzall one im ganna find.

but it was a road gear dude you know it did it
