Background info:
I'm guessing I have 2 of the older model MTX Terminator 12's (Since they are grey not black), in a ported box. They have a power handling of 200 rms each. I've connected multiple amps to these speakers and get different results.
When I connected a mtx rt202 (The amp the subs came with when I got them from a relative) they got kinda loud. Sort of.
I connected a mtx TNA 251 to them and the subs really moved and got decently loud with decent sq, but you don't get any seat vibrations or anything like I like.
When I used my California AP1200 rated 200 rms x 2 @ 4 omhs, Or my rf p4004 200 rms x 2 Bridged @ 4 ohms. you can can feel the bass in the seats, but the bass sounds pretty good in the car but when you open the trunk the subs barely appear to be moving and sounds like the box is going to explode and metal rattling.
Side note, these subs sounded great in my cousins monte carlo with his amp (Loud, hit hard, no box rattles) and I have tried to repair anything I noticed with my box twice. Idk what amp he uses but he said he paid a lot Also I'm on stock head unit.
Question's:
Can these subs not really take the 200 rms that they say they can?
Is my head unit just putting out such a crappy signal that I can't get it as loud as I want cleanly?
Can I have serious answers please, no hopefully your car explodes or just laughing please.
