Series or parellel wiring

You only need series or parallel if you are wiring multiple speakers to a single channel

Or if your subwoofer is a dual voice coil

If it's dual 4 wire in parallel to get a 2ohm load on the amp

If it's dual 2 wire in series to get a 4 ohm load on the amp (most 5 channel amps don't work well at 1ohm on the sub channel)

Why not wire the dual voice coils in series for an 8 Ohm load?

I've ran and installed a few 5 ch amps in the past.

What they're saying is just like any other amp hooking up with speakers the regular way. What's the amp?

Ok seems like a pretty nice amp for the money.

So...if you had a component speaker set consisting for example 6.5" mid and 1" tweeter, and it's impedance is typically 4 ohms, sometimes there's 2 ohm versions, then straight wire them to the amp. No need to cross reference (parallel/series) those. The only part you would have to series or parallel is in the sub area. That amp does the most power at 2 ohms. So if you had a single sub dvc you'd need a dual 4 ohm sub. If your running 2 subs that are dvc, you'd need dual 2 ohm subs. If you had single 4 ohm SVC drivers, then obviously that's when they would get wired in parallel to achieve a final 2 ohm load.

Thanks for confirming that. I have exactly as you stated. The front component speakers and theaters(4ohms) and in the rear are 2 way coaxials. I have just one sub(4ohms): Heres the link.https://www.rockvilleaudio.com/rmw8p/

Is this sub able to be wired up without series or parallel?

That sub is 4 ohms only. If they had made it dvc, then it would be flexable for the user....4 ohms or 2 ohms.

So that said, just plug her into the amp and fire away. May not be very loud but it'll be something.
