2004 Honda Accord with factory 6 disc radio and heater controls

Hello and thank you.

So I want to install an amplifier with the stock radio. I have upgraded the rear and door speakers already.

I am thinking something small like an Alpine power pack or a zapco with Bluetooth.

I don't know where to begin getting the signal for the amp.

Someone suggested adding another radio below with a metra kit. That seems the easiest way but the most expensive way. If I go that route a new alpine radio with the power pack would be a plug and play.

And I would need something to keep my steering wheel controls.

I dont need a system that shakes my rear view mirror but some more power and a aux input.

You have no idea how much easier/cleaner sound it would be to have an aftermarket HU. Doesn't have to be an expensive one either. I'm willing to bet you can get one for about 100-150 bucks....and have all sorts of features built in thanks to some newer technology such as Blutooth, Pandora, USB, Aux input, x-over, RCA's, etc.

I think just adding some type of a 4 channel amp like the Alpine power pack will fix my need for more power I just need help wiring it up. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Maybe a thread or something like that?

Thanks and Happy New Year

I'm not the expert here but if that's what you want to do look for an amp with a high level input or get a high level line converter. Basically you will use the speaker outputs from the factory unit as a signal input for the amp. There are other more complex options like the Audison bit ten unit that are designed to integrate factory head unit to aftermarket equipment. I'm sure there are others but that is just the one that comes to mind. Hope that helps

I wouldn't get that....waste of $$ 1st of all, and when not set right with stock HU is just asking for distortion/clipped signals, etc. All sorts of trouble.

I have an 03 accord and im running the factory unit. I have a ppi d.88r dsp and a bluetooth adapter from ebay that plugs right into the back of the factory headunit. removing the cubby and using that metra kit looks like garbage I dont care what anyone says.whichever direction you take good luck
