i could shit a 5-7 page paper right now.hey guys we have senior project at my high school and ive decided to build a fibeglass subwoofer enclosure for my product. Do you guys have any ideas for a research paper topic having to do with audio (something to do with sound)? It is a 5-7 page research paper so topic cant be TOO narrow. Thanks for any and all help!
you can also do some work with two DMMs, one measures current (less than 10A!), the other measures Voltage. AC values. measure the voltage and currents for various test tones. devide voltages by currents to get "impedance magnitude". plot this vs frequency.
maybe even repeat this for various other situations, such as placing a hard board directly in front of the woofer, opening a door, ect...
you might be able to simplify things by buying a "kill-a-watt" home AC meter, and rigging up some wires. the advantage is that this will measure both real power and apparent power at the same time, which will lead to a discovery that power factor will be near 1 when the apparent power is lowest.
you can get graphs of data, as well as derived measurements. the math isn't hard, and it shows a lot of concepts. you can also compare the analytic results to plots from commercial loudspeakers.
