sell the mag?

I know, dare i say it... i am thinking of selling my mag and getting a TC-3000. I have never heard a TC sub, so i would like to try it out. also, i don't have a lot of room, and TC recommends 1 cubic foot for ported. i was thinking of trying out the passive radiators to save space on the port. from what i have heard, i think it will be louder, but most people have them in bigger boxes. should i do it?

Don’t just buy another sub first, try putting the mag in a smaller box, who knows.. maybe you don't have to spend a lot of money.

You can always EQ things so tehy sound OK. YOU WILL LOOSE output, but hats just the nature of making boxes smaller.

The mag's got a pretty big motor and I don't doubt you can squeeze it in less than 1.5 cubic feet with a PR or two with a little EQ down low.

You can grab a high pass filter with a Q of 1.3 or 1.5 and that should pretty much make up for whatever you loose in the low end.

The thing with PR’s is they have a REALLY deep notch right after Fb, even more than a ported system so they drop like a freaking rock after tuning. If you’re tuning at 32Hz, don’t expect shit below 27Hz. PR’s also have worst group delay that ports because they have springs (spiders) to go along with that mass (not just mass) therefore if you don’t tune them low enough you may end up with a boomy subwoofer. Audible group delay is a function of how long the delay is and how low.. most of the time you can get away with quite of bit of group delay contrary to snobbish audiophile popular belief which is why people always say “sealed sounds better” I don’t think car audio guys even give two shits about his, but I’m throwing it out there for you anyway. Take it or leave it.

PR systems are really hard to design well but when designed correctly.. holy shit they rock! A lot of hometheater stuff is PR based and everything I have heard kicks ****ing ***.

I say try a pr system because why the **** not, its not like anyone else here is

“PORT AT 40HZ FTW” lame *** shit is all I see, you might as well just drill a big hole in the box at that point.

Do I sound angry?

i have tried a few boxes, and the one that i liked was 2 cubes at 32 hz. i don't think that i have enough room for that box. so thats why i want to switch, also i like getting new stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
