1) alternator whine

2) just hooked up an ipc-106 (ipod adapter) and when selecting a song, i can hear the ipod spin up through the speakers. sounds just like when you have the ipod sitting on your ear and you turn it on. you just kind of hear the HD spin up.

3) static through the sub amp (dont have it anymore but it did it with my kx2500.1 and my ia20.1) with HU on, but sound turned all the way down

i unhooked my antenna a while ago and it helped, to the point where i thought it was gone, so i never complained. well today i just hooked up the ipod adapter and when i heard it, i was just like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif. and the alt whine has seemed to really pick up the last week or so.

heres the kicker though:

4) i have dedicated - and + runs straight from the battery to 2 kicker distribution blocks in the back of my explorer. then i have a dedicated run of power and ground just for the HU itself, back to the distribution blocks. basically EVERYTHING is connected to dblocks which of course act as extensions of the battery. the ONLY things that are wired in to the factory wiring is the accessory wire, and the two rear speakers

5) RCA's are not the issue because i have had two sets of rca's in there. both did the same thing

6) the noise is made when the car is on OR off. there is no difference

so...how exactly is it even possible for me to have this issue when everything is wired straight up to the battery?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

hmm, maybe ill disconnect the rear speakers to see if it helps.
I was baffled, apparently the terminal for the speaker was just barely touching the inner door skin when the door was closed, i thought it was a pinched wire or something...

but its an easy fix, so I thought id suggest that before you rewired lol

hmm, well thats definitely not gonna be it. i just remembered the BA pro's dont have a regular speaker terminal. its basically a little plug that doesnt leave any metal exposed anywhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif.

another bit of info, i just remembered. if i go to 0/80 or mute it the sound goes away. as soon as i go to 2/80 (the eclipses jump 2 notches at a time up to 50) the noise is back.

Maybe it's the Ipc 106 not getting along with that cd5000...
http://www.eclipse-web.com/acce/ipc106.html

It does list specific HUs.
ive read that it supports all 2006 models so i should be good. those models listed are the newest ones that took place of the older ones. so im assuming thats why the dont list the older units. btw, buying an ipod adapter is probably the best thing ive done so far. sooooo much easier than cd's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

also, you gotta remember, i had this issue before i installed the ipod adapter. its only after i installed it and heard a noise that isnt your typical alternator whine that i decided to post this info up.

gonna bump this up 1 more time.

1) exchanging units with my buddy who owns a cd3100. both units make hissing/static noise in both cars (which both happen to be explorers)

2) i have tried 3 different sets of rca's. 1 that is on the opposite side of the power wire (even though i dont believe in it) and 2 that were ran away from all metal and went straight over the seats. hissing/static continues

3) seems my ipod is the culprit on the ipod noise since it seems to do it in my friends explorer, while when he put his into mine, it drastically reduced. but then again, his HU has static too even though he is grounded straight to the batteries too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

4) alternator whine is still here

5) pioneer fix didnt work, nor did grounding the rcas to the ground wire

6) i tried to also ground the rcas at the speaker amp to the ground and there was an awful whine introduced that didnt go away when the volume was a 0/80 (unlike the static, which does go away when the unit is muted or volume is on 0)

7) i tried disconnecting the accessory wire instead and wiring it straight to the battery with the constant wire. hissing continued

8) i tried disconnecting the rear speakers and its still there

9) i tried both at the same time, and its still there

10) the ONLY thing that changed when i swapped my cd5k into my friends explorer was that the subwoofers didnt have static in his explorer, while they did in mine

seriously......what the fuck is going on!? does ANYONE have any other ideas? dcole18 has been trying to help me out to no avail

When you open a door and the lights turn on. Does it have more noise? Or when you roll down the windows, hit the turn signal? If any of them you can find the problem there maybe.

nope. no noise what so ever. its just a constant, low noise hissing.
