Security systems

Okay, now that my system is growing and growing in value, Im geting more and more paranoid that I will fall victim to some thug taking a crow-bar to my door. I dont have tinted windows, or an alarm, and I have to park at a school that has only two geezers that ride their bikes around campus picking their @sses. Oh, and the one cop who wouldnt know if someone was stealing his own squad car. So Im thinking of a summer project of taking matters into my own hands and tinting my windows, and installing some kind of alarm. My question is, do alarms actually work? And has anyone heard of a particularly good one? Or I could just harness a pit-bull in the bed of my truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well there is no such thing as the perfect system. About the best you can do is keep as much of your system out of sight. But if you get an alarm system. I would suggest one that has the pager with it. That way when the alarm is triggered you will get the message so you can check it out. Not many people pay attention to alarms going off anymore. It's pretty sad but that's the world we live in. Secure everything well so it takes the thief longer to get it out. Don't advertise by putting stickers on your windows, or bumping all over town.

I was thinking about that, then I started thinking what if I go to check it out, and there's some guy with a gun. He freaks out that I caught him and shoots me. Very possible, so that's why I worry about the pager system. But I will look into the one IMMORTALYZED suggested.

One thing that I never do is install the led light that come with the alarm. When you connect that light you're telling the thief that your car as an alarm and that he need to becarfull. This is like when you put those sticker the says that you have an alarm or that you have a system on it. But this is only my opinion.

I suggest using the led light but not the stickers. If a thief doesn't know what kind of alarm you have it's a little more difficult to bypass than if he knows the name of it because of your sticker. The common thief doesn't want to draw much attention and if he sees that you have an alarm he may move on to the next vehicle where as if there is no indication that you have an alarm, you could wind up with (at the least) a broken window until they see that the car is screaming. JMO though!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If you have a good system on it will be better the surprice, if they see the light it maybe go away, but most of the time they look for the way to bypass that and then broke the window. He need to face two thing1) The alarm that he never know that was there 2)What type of alarm it is?

But this only is good if you have big money on your system. With one of those pager alarm.

This is only my opinion, I can be wrong.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
