securing inner port walls?

coarse 5/8" after asking pioneer saturn. Should I let the glue completely dry before dropping those screws in?

No one else noticed this?!

NO 5/8" will NOT work...3/4" MDF is eqaul to 6/8", meaning if you used 5/8" screws, they wouldn't even get through the first piece...Like someone else said, go with at LEAST 1.5" screws...

meant to type 1 5/8" and would #6 screws be appropriate?

lol, ok good. And IIRC #6's are fairly small. I used some beefy decking screws, lol. They hold pretty nice.

Have to respectfully disagree. Test it for yourself. Glue two pieces together at a 90 degree joint and put a strain gauge on it until the joint breaks. Then do the same test with glue and 1.5" screws at 5" intervals and see which scores higher.

I'll agree with you to some extent. At this point, due to the distribution of the surface area of the screw, the shear stress you are referring to is not at the joint, but rather along the shaft of the screw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

In terms of the joint, the screw does nothing as soon as the glue cures (properly, of course)
