Second Battery needed for this setup?

Im going to run a 15" Kicker L7, with a Zx1000.1 amp in a custom ported box. Can I do with just the big 3 or is a second battery really necessary?

I would say it sure couldn't hurt but no not absolutely necessary .....what kinda battery and size alternator you have? Wire size?

What kind of car? I would suggest running 1/0 and doing a big three, it's easy enough. You can get away with no second battery but it is always nice to have back there. For instance, I left my brights on over night the other day and still had enough juice to start the car in the morning

Its 2008 BMW x5, not sure the battery size or alternator. So your saying I should wire everything with 1/0 gauge and then do the big 3 with 0 gauge and should be alright?

yea i would think you will be just fine doing that for 1000 watts in that vehicle......nice wheels btw

stoxk electrical with 1/0 and big 3 will do just fine...usually. id say put up an ad on cl for an optima yellow or red top and snag 1 for under 75 bucks, throw it under the hood and youll be set for sure, you dont need to go all out but a nicer batt will be good
