sealed r vented for alpine type r's?

This was a big joke. Type R's are known to sound bad in sealed boxes and most people prefer them ported. Sorry for misleading you I just needed to vent on some noobs. Ported for sure. There is an entire thread dedicated to the Type R you should check it out

type R's sound just fine in a sealed box.. how could they sound bad? its not like porting is going to get you better SQ or something. that was a really stupid thread. thanks for wasting my time.

lol. any sub sounds fine in a sealed box. what an ignorant post this is. sure, it will sound fine sealed, but the type R is made to be ported. better to port 1 type R, than seal 2. you are wasting alot of money on an extra sub, and the power for the extra sub, when a single type r ported, and a smaller amp, would get just as loud to the ear. this assumes you make the proper enclosure. 2.25 cubes per type R 12, tuned to 34 hz seems to get pretty loud.

I got a 12" Type R in a ported 1.75cf3 enclosure that is being punished with well over

3200w rms and it still works........LMAO smokes and smells once in a while but she bangs HARD!!

seriously though...go ported or the out put will **** balls

it will obviously be louder ported. im just saying you cant just say oh it has to be ported, theres alot more to consider like space and application. not everyone is all about spl. theres way to many single minded people on this forum.

i have done both, and my sealed enclosure sounds so much better FYI, and if you want to get louder then you should definitely go ported. And no, they don't sound bad, they sound better.

No problem. The Dayton ultimax is one of the better sounding sealed subs I’ve heard. I kinda want to try the 18 in my ride.
