sealed box sub w/ low anechoic F3

Doing some research and trying to locate subwoofers that yield unusually low anechoic F3 points in only moderate sized sealed boxes. I found the Alpine Type-X 12" which is right at about 30Hz anechoic F3 in only 2 ~ 2.5CF sealed. That's extremely low for a 12" driver in such a small enclosure.

If you guys know of any other 12" or 15" drivers that yield unusually low anechoic F3 points such as this in a manageable sized sealed box, please let me know. Considering the thousands of subwoofers out there to choose from, there has to be more than just the Type-X.

Thx

Well the type-x was specifically designed for that application (and it pays for that design choice in other areas), other subs that have similarly low F3 points will have similar characteristics to the type-x since that's what the physics demand to get that performance.

You could try modeling other low f3 drivers in isobaric configuration to see if they look like being comparable/better than what the type-x does.

so it looks as if you are steering away from the type x, am i right. i think oz audio has one and im not sure but doesnt id have something like this

This isn't for my next install per se. Rather I am looking to obtain multiple drivers that are similar to the Type-X in specs & performance and compare them both on paper and in my own vehicle. I'm in the mood to play around and experiment with this type of driver design (high Qts/Qes, very low F3 in moderate sized sealed box). The Type-X is supposed to have a rather unique sound (due to bloated low end perhaps?) so I'm looking forward to testing it out.

I found another subwoofer, the Phoenix Gold TiElite. It has been out of production for a few years now, but the specs were extremely similar to the Type-X. Looks like Ikesound still sells them though, possibly.
