Sealed box for 12" IDQv3

thanks guys. While the links are a help for my lazy *** I suppose I was more asking from an user experience point of view. But ill use the spec sheets to guide my decision.

Thanks!

I've built boxes for IDQ's. My experience was ID does a pretty good job with their enclosure recommendations.
But if you want a warm and fuzzy feeling about it, call them directly. They have some world famous SQ competitors working for them, that have extensive experience with IDQ's, and they are more than happy to chat with you about it personally. You might be surprised who answers your question.

I'll second that on both counts. They do a good job with their enclosure specs and if you call, chances are either Eric or Matt will answer the phone.

I talked to Eric directly about porting my IDQ...according to him, 1.5^3 tuned below 30hz will offer up a sound signature much like a sealed enclosure, but with greater output.

I have mine now in 1 cu ft and its a great balance of output and linear response. I had it in a smaller box than recommended at first in an underseat stealth install, and it sounded great, but lacked some output. Putting in the bigger box made it about twice as loud.

Hey we have the same truck.... I got a rsd 12 in a .95 cf sealed center console box, how are you running your idq?

Im interested in switching my sub to the idq and give it 1,000rm from the jl

A 1000/1 is uneccessary overkill for an IDQ, but it will take it provided you are a responsile, knowledgable user.

FWIW, my IDQ10V3 is seeing a birthsheet verified 847.4w from my Xenon 600.1.

A birthsheet hardly proves your sub is seeing 850 watts.
If you are concerned 1000 watts will be too much (and imo it probably will be), just turn the gains artificially low and call it headroom.
