SD card and Andriod Auto

dont know if this is the right spot for this question but.... im trying to access my SD card in my phone (4000+ quality songs) with andriod auto.. is there an app that can navigate my albums/songs? ive tried accessing with amazon music, google music, etc. but all i get is random songs that show up i wanna pick and choose....HU is Alpine ilx-207....phone is samsung s5

I don't think you can actually. You can upload all that too Google music for free then use that in Android auto

im thinking its not possible either....that was the main reason i bought the HU, for something advertised as a digital media only HU you would think it would be fully integrated for this type of situation...i can play them through bluetooth but that defeats the whole purpose of andriod auto in my opinion....i dont wanna have to pick up my phone and toggle through a bunch crap to change albums or genres

With Google play music you can do it from the headunit. You may be able to use the Alpine side to play the music on your phone.

I've had decent luck with VLC media player via android audio though it's not quite as seemless as the GOOGLE™ options which obviously it's trying to push you into.
