SD 2.5 CAME wire help

I just got the street duty 2.5 AQ 12" subwoofer, and i got the 1200d amp, and the new components.. My only question is what is the proper way to make the connections with the audioque subs, since they already give you the male end, So there are 4 8 gauge wires coming off of the sub, now obviously i know that the sub is a dual 4 ohm sub and i am wiring it down to 2 ohm's, but i want to make sure i know what the proper way to make the connections are.

both +'s on + of amp both neg's on - of amp= 2 ohm load.

Also, if you have a dmm you can double check it after wiring them together, with the +'s connected together and the -'s connected together the dmm should read ~ 2ohms (it probably won't be exactly 2 ohms, but it should be relatively close)

Okay so they dont need to connect and then see the amp as one wire? They can both meet at the input of they amp? Thanks a lot!
