Screws stuck in my amp mounting holes HELP!

I would press them out.

you could use a drill press, not running just use the handle to put pressure on the backside of the bolt. Use a punch or pin or something. No way i would take a hammer anywhere near that amp.i wouldn't drill it either.

Your plan to drill the head off sounds good but once you drill the center out of the screws the heads are still gonna be stuck in there. I think I'd try pressing them out from the bottom.

If you do drill it, Black Oxide might not be hard/sharp enough to drill steel screws. Get a cobalt or titanium coated bit for that.

if the screw heads are not stripped, use an electric drill and slowly take them out, while pulling up on the amp... the screws will still be in the mounting holes in the amp, but the amp will at least be free

Getting the amp free was never the problem. Getting the screws out was.....and still is

I didn't read all the posts, but what about a Dremel Multi-max with a metal blade and cutting the screw from the bottom of the amp then just pull the head off?

In case you've never seen one...

cutting the extra length of screw off was probably not a good idea, as you should have been able to grab those and twist/push the screws out backwards.

I would try some form of drilling and breaking the heads if you can't get them out with some pounding from behind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

The screw heads are stuck down in holes that hide the screw head itself, the screws were too big to begin with, so they were forced into their holes and now the heads thewselves are stuck, amp has been removed and all extra length of screw has been removed. (that's what I got from reading the thread)

Hey guys sorry I haven't been responding in this thread. I didn't even know people were still looking at haha. The screws are still in the amp lol. I'll snap a pic of it tomorrow so you guys can see whats going on.

On a side note. Maybe I should start subscribing to my own threads so I can be notified when people respond without quoting me haha.

All you have to do is use something to press against the back of the screw as you unscrew it from the front. The tighter it is the harder you have to push. Simple - done it a hundred times.

uh oh I see you cut the screws.

use a pick or small screwdriver to get at them from the back and then unscrew

The hard thing about pressing them from behind is the fact that the holes that the threads come through are not much wider than the threads of the screw itself. So ya at this point cutting the screws off was prolly a bad idea. But in my defence I'm not the one who actually cut them. My friend who built my box did :p
