Screen isnt displaying

My wife has a Dual xdvd8183 in her car and the screen is displaying anything. The screen is black, however the music/cd still plays and the touchscreen still works. Is the unit gone bad, or could it be a bad fuse or loose wire connection?

Step 1: check the manual and see what it says in troubleshooting.

Also, the touchscreen still works like if you push in random places it does stuff?

Also, see if you can change the brightness. If someone has it on 0 brightness it would be like nothing.

The backlight may have burned out.

well when the screen is sliding in and out, it cuts on, but once is flips up, the screen gets dark like it has a short in it.
