Quick Isolator Question

stinger i bet? My rear batt was pretty discharged and the isolator wasn't working properly. I had to solder something in it and re-hooked it. Blew again

seriously, i woudln't recommand a stinger isolator. Not solid at all

Yeah its Stinger. My rear batts arent fully charged. The rest at about 12.8 but I was wondering if it would cause voltage drops if you pulling more than what the isolator is rated at?

Took my isolator out today. Here are my results. With the isolator my alt. would charge @ 14.4 volts cold 13.8 hot. Voltage would drop to 12.9 while driving and around 12.2 at idle. Without the isolator my alt. charges @ 14.6 cold 14.1 hot. Voltage dropped to 13.5 while driving and around 13.0 at idle. I think the isolator went bad and was causing massive voltage drops. I don't know if it did the same when it was brand new or not. If you pulling more than what an isolator is rated at it seems that it may also cause voltage drops. So all those who do not recommend them they are right and I guess I will join the crowd. If an isolator is used make sure its contact rating is high enough for the amperage your going to be pulling. Hope this helps someone out.
