scratchy amp gain

I would try contact cleaner spray (Radio Shack). But you'll have to open the amp up and get the spray inside the gain control to be able to clean it. Sometimes the controls are sealed which makes this impossible. Good luck.

As mentioned, use contact cleaner. Spray it into the pot and turn it back and forth while doing so. Also... make SURE you disconnect the amp from power while doing so and leave it disconnected for about a minute after.

Another thing that works well for cleaning electronics is Simple Green. It does a great job but because it is water based, it takes a lot longer to dry than does contact cleaner, which is alcohol based.
