Scrapping sound

I just took my subs out so i could re route my rca cables to day and i noticed when i pushed one of the subs in it made a light scratching sound. I'm assuming thats my sub almost fully blown and the vc are slightly burnt and scratching. Am i correct?

yup...get ready to toss her in the garbage...

I have used speakers that were in this condition before, and they will last longer. They don't sound nearly as good or perform even close to the same. They are going down hill though, so don't be suprised it they just stop working one of these times.

WHAT??????????????

almost every sub (unless it has a massive friggin gap) will make that sound unless you push down PERFECTLY straight, you probably just pushed down slightly angled...that's what made the sound, not it being blown, i wouldn't worry about it

no i have two of them. one makes no sound, the other used to be flawless but now makes that sound and i already thought of trying to push it at diff directions. theres a slight ressistance when pushed, i'm pretty sure its blown. but i almost have enought money for my xxx anyways, just kinda waitting to see it the group buy pans out.

well, if one has more resistance than the other when pushed, there is a chance it's blown, does it smell?

now that there might be something really wrong with them i don't wnat them anymore, lol
