Tuning and peak are two different things.With a peak of 39hz your tuning is around 29-30hz.

Depends on the vehicle also. There's no set in stone rule for how much above tuning you will peak, especially if you don't have a big peak in the frequency response of the enclosure. For example, I had a pair of MJ-18's tuned to 32hz...peaked at 55hz since the box was designed to not have any peak outside of the vehicle.

I have a friend that i helped out a little with, and he is tuned in the mid 60's and peaks in the mid 30's

odd isnt it?
