Science vs. The Bible!

What do you trust more?

I voted for the Bible.

I trust in both but if I had to choose I would take my faith anyday. How many times have you heard scientists say something about "playing god", even they believe there is one... LOL To each his own I guess...

made sense to me:confused:
athesim = lack of belief in God or active disbelief in God.

But yet Atheism is a form of religion if I'm not mistaken. So to not believe in something that is not there is rather '*** backwards' to me. If there was no 'Bible' or any other form of religious matter, there would be no Atheists. Thats how I see it at least. To claim to be something that has dis-beliefs in something fictional seems like 2 negatives and cancels eachother out. I'm still lost on the whole 'Atheism' format though.
The term atheism is a response to a claim of theism. You are correct in stating that if it were not for the claim of theism, we would not have the response of atheism; this is similar to how there wouldn't be a position of not believing in ghosts if someone were not putting forth the claim that there are ghosts.

for all that say the Bible is full of lies, go to a hospital. Science can "lie" as well. i see it all the time. Heck my mother is a living witness
Can you describe how science is lying in your example?

The point, regardless, is not that no scientist has ever been wrong; it's that science has a self-correction method built right into it that religion does not have. Science's explanations change to reflect our best understanding of the world; religion holds specific dogma that is unchanging.

we have dueled before remember (where did the first atom come from yadda yadda). I'm not in the mood tonight, but carry on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/popcorn.gif.32dd9e22fd77e77bc3c907062768fcd2.gif

Almost 50% of broad scientists are atheists, compared to 15% in the rest of the population. Amongst the National Academy of Sciences (which includes top scientists excluding social scientists, economists, engineers, etc.), the rate is over 90%.

Regardless, I don't really agree that it's a worthwhile argument to look in that direction. Assessing who supports what claim is less effective for determining the truth than assessing the claims themselves directly.

Care to elaborate?
I'll keep this short and sweet, science tells many people "you are going to die from xxxx." and you live past/through it. science lies. I don't expect you to let this change your view (and I really don't care). but people always say "science is based on fact." when any scientist will tell you NOTHING CAN BE PROVEN definitively. but I've argued this before and am not in the mood to do it again, carry on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/popcorn.gif.32dd9e22fd77e77bc3c907062768fcd2.gif
